Color Dare #16

The Color Dare is back and so am I. This week the colors are ... Cranberry, Autumn Terracotta, Goldrush, & Honey.  I haven't touched a piece of paper or ink pad in weeks. It's VERY weird, but life goes on.  Thankfully there's Studio J to help me stay in the "paper crafting" groove.

Color My Heart is a challenge blog that gives us all an opportunity to take out various colors that we might not think to use together. This week it's analogous colors. These colors go with all kinds of paper creating themes that we might be working on right now ... Autumn and Halloween and Thanksgiving and when your best friend pops in from Arizona (to Minnesota).

I love these results. Check out just a sample of my recent Studio J work below.

Mission Accomplished

At the beginning of June I set out to feature a different Close To My Heart stamp set every day in honor of Stampaganza. I missed one day ... but I'm ok with it because on some days I featured more than one stamp set. I'm not gonna lie. This wasn't easy. I was tempted to call it quits.  BUT today I'm here to finish strong. I like to think of this last post as the Grand Finale ... like when you go to a fireworks show. I used Remarkable Wreath to make 8 different cards. This is my first time using it. It was fun to try out a variety of combos. AND I used every stamp in the set except the little bow.  I'd rather use real bows.

I used this week's Operation Write Home sketch (with a bit of a diversion on the ribbon - that's how I roll). Since CTMH paper is double sided this was the perfect sketch. I cut a base piece the size of the card & then sliced an inch off of the side and turned it over. The cutting and pasting part of these cards was a snap. I did them all with scraps that I have left from other projects. It seems to me that every card can be made from scraps since the canvas is so small.

The stamping didn't turn out to be mass produced because I was having so much time mixing and matching the colors and the stamps for a wide variety of effects. I really do love how every single wreath turned out. It makes me want to decorate my front door.

Today is the last day to buy two stamps set and get one free. You have until midnight tonight to shop on my website ... www.shellynemitz.ctmh.com. Another great promotion starts on July 1st.

ENCOURAGEMENT
Tomorrow is going to be a fun day ... it's the second session of our Winter Card Party Adventure. If you're coming and you don't want to see any more pictures STOP right here.

I'm so excited to make these cards with the best Close To My Heart customers ever. We're covering "occasions" by making 20 cards of 5 different styles.  I've been cutting paper like crazy to get ready. Yep ... my Cricut has been chirping too. Oh boy!!! Enjoy the photos.

No Photos ... No Problem

There's more than one way to scrapbook. Every person develops a style and a process that fits just right for her needs. A girl just gets more done that way.  BUT a scrapbooking rut can also develop from doing it the same way every time. New ideas don't seem to burst out of a well developed process. That's why I have grown to love creating pages without any pictures - NONE.

Scrapbooking without pictures can push some people over the edge.  They don't like wondering if the colors will match or there will be enough pictures for all of the spaces. I say RELAX and give it a try.

Finished this layout up with photos, a title & journalling in 15 minutes.

As a CTMH consultant I have a box full of layouts that have been created for various classes along the way. There's so much freedom in making the page just the way it is. and not worrying if it will work later on. The best part is when you have the itch to get something done BUT not enough time to really go all out. Take out your box of layouts in waiting and attach some photos.  Add a little journalling and a title & you're truly finished in less than 15 minutes. Not only are you done, but you probably made a page that will look great in your scrapbook since it changes up the style you usually use and pulls you out of your scrapbooking rut.

Dreamin' ... of making some cards with you

Favorite

Aaaaaaaah ... Dreamin' : )  It's my favorite paper pack in the current Close To My Heart Idea Book.  And even more specifically this card highlights my favorite piece of paper in that pack. The blue leaves are on one side and the multi-color is on the other. Every time I see this paper used on a project it make me happy.  It's a little weird to let a piece of paper have an impact on your emotions ... but it does.

Order Dreamin' Online or just take a peek in the online Idea Book.  You can even check on the "dreamin'" label on the right to see some of the other projects I've made with this paper pack.

Less Than Two Weeks Away ...

On Friday, October 28th I'm holding a workshop at two different times where you can make 2 layouts OR 12 cards. Below you'll see the two layouts without the photos. Dreamin' is my favorite new paper and these layouts are even better than you can imagine in person. Each layout has room for a title, journalling and three or more photos depending on how you crop them.  I can't wait to add my own photos to these and drop them into page protectors ... BOOM!!  I love having finished scrapbook layouts. These CTMH designs make you look like a master scrapper : )

IMPORTANT ... you must register by October 18th. If you decide after the 18th I may have a place for you, but it's not guaranteed.  Contact me at shellynemitz@gmail.com

Dreamin'

This is a "too tired to scrapbook any more" page. It was fast and easy and uninhibited. 3 pictures, some paper & a cricut. It's all about the cutting and pasting. AND I like it.

There's a time and place for intricate design, but most of the time it's just really nice to have the pages finished. For those of you who would never know ... this Dreamin' paper is part of the Fall line!!! Don't tell anyone that it was used for Spring photos.

Pumpkin Day

Today I'm declaring it Pumpkin Day!!! I'm off scrapbooking with my friends and today we're going to make this card. It's not for a specific occasion BUT it's a lot of fun to make up your own things to celebrate. It's just silliness. And truthfully, I appreciate a little something frivolous every day.
