What's Up????

If there's one thing that REALLY bugs me about blogs ... it's when there are no updates for a very long time. I've been irritating myself to no end on this front. BUT I have a list of reasons.

This is the very best one ...
This is my BFF ... she lives thousands of miles away so we rarely see each other face to face.
She was my matron of honor. We're talking over a quarter of a century of friendship.

This is her oldest daughter. I've known her since before she was born. She was my sweet flower girl.

Now she's a mommy.

And she's a grandma.

We don't have any idea what I am. Who cares?

I've been away from paper and tools, basking in this place called "baby love".
Everything in the whole world fades away when there's a baby to hold and gaze at.

Now that I'm home ... a routine might fall back into place. Maybe ...

OOPS!!!

Everything was right on track for a full week of posting and then ... BAM ... a family day. That will distract me every single time. It's easy to say I "love" paper, but it's completely different than the way I loooooooooooooooove my family. I will drop everything for time with these precious people.

AND even though there aren't any photos ... we did play a board game, which was made of ... you guessed it - PAPER!!

A Thing of the Past

A little over a year ago we got this new refrigerator. When we took all of the magnets and photos and miscellaneous items off the front of the old fridge we made a commitment to change. Our shiny new black refrigerator would be memorabilia free. A small area on the side of the refrigerator has become our "magnet worthy items" area. The front is kept spotless. That was quite the accomplishment for our family. Well ... until this happened...

Just in time for Christmas last year, Daniel arrived home from his first semester of college. He tracked down some of our old magnets and set up this display. Yep, those are college tests, assignments and papers. Daniel knows how to make things fun!!

This is kind of silly, but everywhere I turn paper trumps all kinds of other methods. There's certainly a website where all of these grades are posted. It's most likely a more efficient way to obtain information BUT ... You have to admit there's something nostalgic and heart warming about seeing a refrigerator covered with paper accomplishments. There's something about seeing those comments and marks written with a red pen that makes you think about your own school days. It seems that we never outgrow the desire to have our best work displayed on the family refrigerator. Adorable.

The "soft" launch ...

Here I am ... blogging about paper : ) It seems counterintuitive, but completely makes sense at the same time. This is my simple launch. Pin me to your bookmark bar and keep checking back as I post photos and more.  My intention is to make sure paper is part of everything I have to say. You'll have to come back to see what I mean by that.

This is going to be a technical adventure. BUT it's all good because I love learning new things.

Whether they know it or not ... this is my support team..
