OWH Sketch #164

Today I had to shovel snow. Did I make a cup of hot chocolate when I came in? NOPE ... I beelined it to my scraps of paper and made this card. Lately I've missed a few Operations Write Home sketch challenges. The sketches are always awesome but my timing just doesn't work out. After a girl shovels snow she doesn't care about her responsibilities so much. She just wants to do something fun and happy. TA!! DA!! 

Since the paper has a distressed look I used the swiping technique on my stamp.

OWH Sketch # 158

Do you ever have one of those days??  Today I'm having one ... EVERYTHING has just fallen into place today in my creative life. It's just one of those amazingly sunny days. (not literally ... so cold and dreary today I can't even describe it) A HUGE thank you goes out to Operation Write Home. Another sketch challenge to the rescue. Where would I be without you??

I needed just one  more idea for some cards I'm making with the new CLAIRE paper pack from CTMH. The goal was to make a birthday card. Oh well, I rarely reach my goals without some adjustments.
Here's the sketch. It's flipped diagonally. If you aren't an orange lover I get it, but on chilly winter days this bright stuff can really bring a smile to your face. Thank you for stopping by for a peek.

Yippee ... here we go AGAIN... ABC. When I decided to do this blog hop I knew it would be fun.  I just never realized how many options there would be for each letter. (I probably won't run into that when we get to Q)  I considered card stock, Cricut, Chantilly, Cocoa, Champagne, Creme Brulee, Cranberry, Cotton Candy ... and then I just started getting hungry (I love the CTMH color names!!)  This time I could have called my post "Confused" if I didn't already name it after this awesome new paper pack from Close To My Heart ... CLAIRE.


Here's what we have and I'd looooooove hear your feedback. So keep reading and chime in ... after you look at the two photos.

These two cards are generally the same. The papers are from Claire ... the exact same piece only flipped. Isn't it amazing how different the looks are? I tried both white and blush for the stamping pieces. The owls have traded places. In one case there's a knot with the floss and in the other bow.

For the most part I'm pretty sure what I like best, but other people will be making this card based on what I offer. So it's fun to find out the preferences of others. What's your vote?? We could come up with a whole new card!

There's one thing that won't change ... bling. I looooove these new pink sparkly gems from CTMH. If I was smart I would've ordered two packs the first time.

B = Bling, Buttons & Brads

Welcome to the Everything ABC's Blog Hop!

It would be so awesome to be able to tell you how carefully I planned out my ABC post for the letter B. BUT the truth is I got stuck. I thought about "B = Buzz & Bumble", which is a great new paper pack available on February 1st. Everyone loves a sneak peak, but that just seemed too easy to me.

What do you know ... the answer was right in front of me when I reached for my Originals book to get some card ideas. I'm so excited that this book AND Reflections are being re-released in paperback on February 1st. The cards I ended up making are all designs from the Originals book. I stepped out of my box and made some shapes I don't normally dabble in. AND I'm not going to say it too loudly, but I used all new papers. I am in love with EVERY new paper pack. It's hard to know where to start.

BLING ... here we have Bitty Sparkles & one of the new small flourishes.  This card design is called "Package Deal".

BUTTONS ... I looooooooove Close To My Heart buttons. There are so many great sizes, colors & shapes. I will never have too many! This card design is "Clean Cut".

BRADS ... lets not talk about how many brads I have collected over the years. Just this week I ordered two more packs of these shimmer brads because they're going away in the next Idea Book (that means they're gone after January 31st). I love everything about these. This card design is "Tie Back Tag".
