OWH Sketch #168

Would you believe me if I told you I made this card in less than 10 minutes?? It's absolutely the truth. When you have a sketch with precise measurement the process is minimal. The Chantilly paper pack and matching elements were all sitting on my desk from something I made earlier. Soooooo ... I just grabbed a couple of things & stuck them together.

Here you go ... fast and simple and lovely.

Here's the sketch

Click over to Operation Write Home to see what other people are doing with the exact same sketch. It's amazing to see how each card is different, even though the sketch is the same.

Heart 2 Heart Challenge Newbie

This is my first EVER post that's linked to the Heart 2 Heart Challenge. The truth of the matter is that I've been overwhelmed by all of the greatness on that blog. There are so many amazing CTMH consultants and creators out there.

This page unintentionally matches the guidelines ... "raindrops keep falling".  I didn't even know the H2H theme when I made this. AND I never really expected to show it on my blog. But, it's fun to share. It's also last week's theme, but it's all good!! Better Late Than Never is one of my favorite cliches.

I used CTMH Bitty Sparkles to make these rain drops. In order to create a little something random I literally flicked them off of the backing sheet to the paper. Wherever they landed I stuck them down. When the (partial) sheet was empty I didn't look back. The umbrellas and other colored embellishments are the complements for the Chantilly paper pack. This might be one of my favorite packs ever ... maybe.

Mission Possible ~ Chantilly

Can't wait to show you how easy it is to make ribbon roses that match your projects.

It's so exciting to formally introduce the upcoming Mission Possible kits.  If you're new here ... this process is called Mission Possible because these kits are one way to fast forward your paper creating. Maybe you have paper creating goals AND maybe not, but these scrapbook layouts and cards will definitely increase your productivity.

PRE-ORDER UNTIL MARCH 19th
The kits for April are made with the Chantilly paper pack. It's time to pre-order from NOW until March 19th. So take a look and let me know which kits you want and how many of each. These kits can either be assembled at the workshop on April 12th or delivered to you to be assembled at home. Mailing IS an option so you can order no matter where you live. The close date is set so that I will have plenty of time to order and cut the pieces.

GOOD NEWS for those who need their layouts mailed. You can add your own cardstock base pages and I'll mail you the pieces to the layouts at the same price as those who come to the event.

Should we take a look?

TWO LAYOUTS ... $10
Add the decorative fabric buttons and three flip flaps for $7

Kits include all paper precut and ready for you to assemble, a full package of bling and 16 adorable paper flowers.

8x10 photo on left OR selection of your choice. 3-4x6 photos on right or more when you add flip flaps. Yellow stamped area can also be used for journalling if you choose.
Here you can see how adorable those little flowers are ... gingham.

Remember that the fabric buttons are an upgrade. This layout has room for 8 cropped photos.
Here's a fun little close up of just a few of the fabric buttons.

THREE CARDS ... $5
All papers are double sided so you'll be able to create several looks for each of these designs. You will receive everything you see on these cards for $5.

This card can be made into a Mother's Day card using a different stamp. If you order this by mail you'll need to let me know if you want something different than "I love you".
This card also has an alternate sentiment.
Can also be made to say "Just wanted you to know that you're in my prayers."

How do you pre-order??  Contact me by email or a phone call. Once I receive your payment I can start creating your kit. In the near future I'll be able to take credit cards ... but until then I accept checks in the mail.

Just Can't Wait

When I'm excited to show something to someone I just can't wait until the proper time. I just finished photographing the pieces that are going to be in the upcoming Mission Possible kit. You can't consider this the "official" launch because that's supposed to be on the 10th. It's ok ... I'm in charge here.

Here are the cards that will be included in the next Mission Possible kit.

Prototyping

Sometimes when an idea pops into my head it's not finished. That's why I have to practice "prototyping". I use scrap papers to get the basic design together. AND then I cut up the paper I actually want to use. It's especially true when other people are going to be making a card I've designed.

Here's a recent evolution! This is the prototype, not too bad but ...

The basic paper background seemed ok, so I went ahead and made it with the paper I want to use ... Chantilly. Hmmmmmmmm ... without the floral background stamping there was too much whiteness. BUT I know a few people who won't like the background stamping.  NEXT?

I need to cover more of the card base so I pulled out an old WOTG the instruction sheet. I remember that the pattern was similar to what I was attempting.  CTMH always has the BEST designs. Why do I even bother to try my own?

 ... now we're getting somewhere. I'm a fan.

I made a second version for those who don't like to tie bows OR want to make a Mother's Day card. The bird is back!!! I just love this little guy with the Chantilly paper pack.  You should be able to see that the last two cards are essentially the same thing with a little rotation.  It's easy to make one OR the other with the exact same paper pieces AND the same stamp set. WOO HOO ... simplified.

For those who are wondering ... YES ... this is one of the cards that will be featured in the Chantilly card kit that will be introduced in just a few days. I can't wait to show you everything. I hope you'll love it all as much as I do.
