Welcome to the Everything ABC's Blog Hop! For this hop we will be featuring the letter L. This may be the name of a paper, a stamp set or an embellishment. Whatever the crafter has chosen as their L element will be featured in their post.
If you came from Theo at Celebrate Crafts then you're on the right track!
If you're a scrapbooker then you know the term "layout". To make sure we're all on the same page (pun intended) let's define it. It's so wonderfully simple.
lay·out [ley-out] noun ... an arrangement or plan.
Isn't that awesome? All you need to do when you're making a scrapbook project is to lay the paper and embellishments out in an arrangement. Once you get everything where you want it you'll have a plan. THEN you get out your adhesive.
It sounds easy when I say it that way. BUT sometimes you just want a little help. Have you ever considered using Studio J as a design tool? Even though Studio J is used to make digital layouts it's useful for designing with paper too. You can see your layout before you cut a single piece of paper.
In this short video Studio J is being used to create a digital layout. You can use the same concepts (and even paper style - Tommy) to make your own paper creations by hand.
You can check out Studio J by clicking right here --> Studio J
The layout below was created by my friend and CTMH sister Dana Taft. It uses the same layout ideas as the video using real paper along with her own unique touches. It's so awesome to have a basic background design using Studio J and then add embellishments that make it unique. Thank you Dana for giving me permission to share your work. Your next stop on our Everything ABC'S blog Hop is Shalana at Scrappin' with Shalana.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this idea! Dana did a fantastic job with turning the digital artwork into a real cut and paste job! :) Thanks, Shelly, for the fantastic design inspiration! It could literally take hours off my pages, lol. ;)
ReplyDeleteSuper fab idea! TFS I think I am gonna try it sometime.
ReplyDeleteShelly, your so sweet to use my layout. It's certainly not up to your level of scrapbooking, but I feel honored. Hope your having fun with your BFF and soaking up all that special time together. :)
