ICE CREAM DREAM - June 2015 Stamp Of The Month Blog Hop

Welcome to the Rose Blossoms Stamp Of The Month Blog Hop. Everyone loves ice cream and we have a whole lot of fun for you with this adorable stamp set. It can be yours for $5 with a $50 purchase for the whole month of June. If you came from Barbara's Blog then you've already seen something fun and creative. After you take a look at this blog don't forget to hop on using the link at the end this post.

There was no doubt in my mind that I would be creating a scrapbook layout with this set. I have so many "ice cream" pictures. I found one of my favorites and ordered an 8x10 with the intention of doing a simple single page layout with just one picture.

Then I started stamping and ended up with THIS.

I know ... I got off track. BUT these photos are from one of my favorite ice cream memories ever. So my cute photo wasn't nearly as inspiring as these photos of making a ten foot long ice cream sundae in a rain gutter.  Want to confuse your dinner guests at dessert time? Bring in a piece of gutter and set it on your kitchen table. Start handing out bananas and other ingredients. No one knows what's going on but in the end it's soooooooo much fun. People are asking us to do this again this summer.

Here are some close ups of the scrapbook creation ...

Creating the actual sundae was a messy process. In order to capture the feeling I had to mess up my paper version. A long time ago I bought an embossing gun and some powder. Thankfully I remembered how terrible I am at using that stuff because my skill set was perfect for this. I just used wet glue and sprinkles the powder all over it. Then when I heated it I let it bubble and glob up. That's not how heat embossing is supposed to work, but sometimes neatness doesn't count.
Title .. THIS was another messy creation that I loved making. No rules.
SOTM, ink pads, letter stamps, reinkers, glitter, markers & a journalling pen. Voila!!

I invited the members of my team (The Pretty Pieces) to create with me and be featured in this post. They're a little shy BUT Anne Rukke stepped up. She created THREE cards for me to choose from. I didn't choose!! Anne is a Rose Blossom too so don't worry. We're all one big happy family. I think Anne should start a blog too so she can join us in the hops. Here are the cards she created. You can see that this set plays well with all sorts of colors and papers. The options really are truly endless.

Thank you for stopping by my blog today. The next stop is Violets and Sunshine with Kim Hill. Keep hopping along so you can see all of the awesome Rose Blossom creations.

  4. Haha, it's nice to know other people have crafting ADD - but I love where your layout ended up. I think you did an awesome job not only with the photos, but reflecting the story with your stamping. Plus I love the title - sometimes "mistakes" are the best part. :)
