G - Glitz

Welcome to the Everything ABC's Blog Hop!

For this hop we will be featuring the letter G. This may be the name of a paper, a stamp set or an embellishment. Whatever the crafter has chosen as their G element will be featured in their post. If you have just hopped onto my blog, please start at the beginning at Amber's blog ~ Scrapper's Therapy

If you came from Theodora - Celebrate Crafts then you're on the right track!

I've never met a girl who doesn't like sparkly things. Glitter is definitely something that every papercrafter likes to incorporate here and there. Sometimes it's here, there, and everywhere!!! I have a friend who looks at my cards and almost always says, "That's a nice card. It could use just a touch of glitter". She always seems to know right where to put it too.

The very best way to incorporate glitter in touches (in my opinion) is to use Close To My Heart's Glitz Glitter Gel. It comes in seven colors and at less than three dollars a bottle you can build a nice collection. I made a card and then took it to the next level using Glitz. Check out the before and after.

BEFORE ... it's a cute card that just missing a little something

AFTER ... Isn't the difference worth it?

Here's a little detailed close up (excuse the color differential - two photos on two different days in natural light ... impossible to get a match)

I applied a little pink Glitz to the heart and move it around with my piercing too. Any little speck that landed outside of the lines was easy to swipe away with the tool.

OR you can just squeeze it out of the bottle where you want a dot or a line. Yes ... you do have to set it aside somewhere to dry where you won't put your arm on it.
Don't ask me how I know.

Will Glitz work in scrapbooks? Of course, silly. You could probably decorate your cell phone with it too. The possibilities are endless.
