Drop Everything

No matter what you like to create inspiration is ALL around you. This morning I wrote a note on this card that was given to me by another CTMH consultant. Isn't it pretty? Right above my signature I wrote ... "love you more than this card I'm going to copy". I took a photo of the card and got up to move forward with the rest of the day. 

Would I ever go back to the photo and really copy it? I have a giant collection of inspiring photos. It's actually overwhelming to have too many ideas. SO ... I changed my plans and tracked down my scissors. OK, I was going to be cleaning the bathroom so it wasn't all that difficult to put on hold.

All good cards start with scraps in my opinion. The idea of making one card with several full sized pieces of paper is overwhelming (and not in the least bit frugal). I have a box full of beautiful scraps. 

(OK, I have three boxes full ... maybe more, but I'm working on it!!)

What do you think? It's certainly not a straight up copy even though I have scraps of the paper used for the original. I was looking to "make it my own". I like the bike version so I copied it again. You'll have to pop over to the Pretty Pieces Café and see what this card turned into. You'll be able to come and make that card on May 30th. 

Sweatshirt Inspiration

Inspiration for creating with paper is everywhere. It's just not possible to act on the inspiration every time it pops up. There would be some serious trouble in my life if I did that. I'd be playing with paper all of the time. People would be hungry. This morning I looked down at my clothes and thought, "that's a fun color combo"! (for the most part I picked this outfit based on what I could reach fastest ... I'm no fashionista)

This time I dropped everything and searched out some paper. In a few minutes I had a fun card and used up some scraps of this and that. Woo! Hoo!

Inspired By? ....... Myself!

The other day I wrote a note to someone on this card ... 

This is a card I made for a blog post last year, which you can see right --> HERE. I didn't want to forget how cute it was so I snapped a photo of it with my phone and put it on Instagram. All of a sudden I was inspired ... by myself. So I took out some paper and started cutting it up into one inch squares. 

This is all part of the messy process!!! I used scraps and abandoned Cricut cuts to pull together some more adorable cards similar to this. I recycled an idea from my past. Now I'll be looking through my box of cards for more inspiration straight from my own imagination.
