For the letter D I'm turning to some recent Studio J creations. We went to Denver! I use Studio J for ALL of our vacation photos now. Why? Because I take so many pictures and I want to include them in some sort of orderly way. So I do things like putting all kinds of similar things together on a layout like ... Denver Dining. Pictures in restaurants are rarely interesting. BUT the memories of being together with a list of places we ate is part of every vacation layout series.

How about Downtown Denver?

Most of my vacations are with my family, but every now and then I have a little getaway by myself. In this case I went to Disneyland so it works for our D hop. Another reason I wanted to feature this layout is because with Studio J it was easy to Duplicate for my two friends. I made one and ordered three. How awesome is that for getting scrapbooking finished in a snap!!

Nemitz Night

At my house we have a dinner every week called Nemitz Night. It starts this week ... so exciting!!! I wasn't going to scrapbook each and every NN that we had last year. Then when I tried to pull the best pictures together I couldn't pick just a few to represent the whole summer. Studio J to the rescue.

Each night is an individual memory so it should have it's own layout. With digital scrapbooking I can pull together a layout in a fraction of the time that I can with paper. I love to scrapbook both ways. I can't wait to see how it all turns out this summer.

Studio J is going to be my best friend this summer so that I can squeeze as much fun into each day even when I can't pick up my scissors.

V - Vacation

I love family vacations. Did you know that you can scrapbook your vacation while you're still enjoying it? My family tends to fill the days with fun and then slow down at night. Once we get to that point it's easy to spend my down time uploading photos from the day to Studio J and then start creating. My vacation scrapbook is the most current book because the whole thing is done in Studio J. If I was ever going to say that I'm "caught up" in my scrapbooks … this is the book I'd be referring to.

Color Dare #50

This blog is about my love for paper and one of my favorite kinds of paper has pictures of my life printed on it!! If you aren't getting your pictures printed ... why not??? They really do you no good trapped in a computer or on a memory card somewhere. PRINT YOUR PICTURES!! (yes, I'm yelling at you)

One of my favorite ways to get my pictures printed is Studio J. I love that not only am I getting my pictures printed on paper, but the whole entire scrapbook layout is done. I just slip it right into my album for everyone to see.

Today I was organizing photos and what do you suppose I discovered ... this week's Color Dare. OK you caught me. It's not that fun to organize pictures so every now and then I get off task and look at people's blogs. I was excited to find the Surf's Up colors, which I already have Studio J layouts of.

So here you go Color My Heart!!

One of my favorite Studio J "toys" is titles. Digital titles leave handmade titles in the dust as far as I'm concerned!!! There are so many layering possibilities. I love this page just for the title. AND the memory is one of my favorites ... a bike ride along the beach in December with my family.

I took this panoramic photo while I was riding my bike ... it looks a little weird, but that's part of the fun of this memory. I took 40 some pictures while riding a bike!!

D is for Dolphins!!

OK, I wanted to say D is for Studio J but I know my readers are smarter than that. So, what did I go ahead and do?? I created some Studio J layouts with D items so I could post them in this blog. Tricky, isn't it? Studio J layouts are only $5 each from now until March 15th. That's such an amazing price that I didn't skimp. Every person in my family gets to have his/her own dolphin page.

Even if you're a tried and true hands on sort of scrapbooker, it's the best time to try something a little bit different and create layouts without making a mess. Everyone who knows me knows I love Studio J. No one is ever finished scrapbooking, but Studio J keeps me motoring ahead. It helps my attitude.

Color Dare #16

The Color Dare is back and so am I. This week the colors are ... Cranberry, Autumn Terracotta, Goldrush, & Honey.  I haven't touched a piece of paper or ink pad in weeks. It's VERY weird, but life goes on.  Thankfully there's Studio J to help me stay in the "paper crafting" groove. 

Color My Heart is a challenge blog that gives us all an opportunity to take out various colors that we might not think to use together. This week it's analogous colors. These colors go with all kinds of paper creating themes that we might be working on right now ... Autumn and Halloween and Thanksgiving and when your best friend pops in from Arizona (to Minnesota).

Express Collection Passes the Test

Recently I had less than two hours to create and order four Studio J layouts. 

THANK YOU to someone amazing at Close To My Heart who made these awesome Express Collection layouts for me to drag and drop my photos into. Did I get the four done in time? YES ... I did 5 (two not shown here) in less than two hours. That time included picking out photos, uploading, dragging and dropping, approving AND paying for the order. I'm SO excited. 

The best part is that I'm off on a scrapbook weekend with real paper!!  It feels like I jump started the effort before I ever left.

Is This Cheating???

I just ordered some Studio J layouts ... woot, woot.  It feels like cheating because the time it takes is minimal. And it's NOT messy. When I scrapbook in real life there are so many things scattered everywhere!! The clean up takes as long as the creative time.

These layouts are all made electronically using Studio J (click on "Studio J" to try it yourself for FREE).  Since a picture is worth a thousands words, I'll let these layouts speak for themselves : )

The first two layouts below were made using the new Express Collection. All I had to do was pick out my pictures and add journalling. The titles were already in place by design, but I could change them to say what works for me.  I actually left "the BEST day" as is because it truly was one of my favorite days this year. These fast pages make me look like a Studio J genius!!

Lemonade

They say ... "if life gives you lemons you should make lemonade".  I'm always a big fan of making the most of your situation. Recently I received some lemons when my computer disk drive crashed. The good news is that I have a computer that's like brand new now. The bad news is that the over 10,000 pictures that I did have backed up have to be loaded back in. I'm starting with the most current and going backwards. So far I have 2012 back. 

The lemonade is that my files are going to be organized beyond recognition. I'm not doing anything with the older photos until I'm up to date with January - April. The most delicious lemonade is that I have Studio J to help me. I just placed an order for 10 layouts ... yippee skippy !!!
